Aoyama Hōzan (Aoyama Keiichirō) was born July 23, 1933. Graduated from Tokyo University of Pharmacy and became president of the Life Sciences Pharmacist Company.
He studied Tozan-ryū shakuhachi under Aoyama Yōzan (a student of Hosoda Yōzan), and attained the rank of Dai-Shihan and the title Chikurin-ken. He was the chief of the Yamagata Prefecture branch of the Tozan-ryū, a member of the Tozan-ryū Centennial history archives committee, and an executive member of the Centennial anniversary national convention committee.
